Our History
First Impressions is an independent family owned business spanning three generations based in Rugeley,
in Staffordshire. We offer wedding cars for hire in Staffordshire, the Midlands and surrounding areas.
Our wedding cars were originally acquired by George Dorsett in 1977, and they have both been lovingly
restored over the last twenty-six years. Both of our cars have had an interesting history, the Bean, built in Dudley
in 1924, spent most of its life in Rochdale, where it belonged to a baker, accountant and also a seaman! It was
brought back down to the Midlands by a car dealer where it was acquired by George from an advert in a local
paper. The Sunbeam, built in Wolverhampton in 1933, is a little more mysterious. We know that it has spent most
of its life in the West Midlands, being previously owned by a local arms dealer before it was acquired by George,
but unfortunately little else. The wedding car business is today managed by George's grandson Philip.
